We completely understand the idea of sharing the road with bicycles. In no way is this blog post indicating that all cyclers are a problem. We encourage the progression of our area into a great lifestyle region. But, just like we post photos of car/truck drivers that are jags, we gotta ask, is this a good decision?
This would be 1 of about 20+ cyclers that were cycling on the bridge.. both directions. All of the interesting roads in Western Pennsylvania and you pick this bridge?
As we continue to share the road as motor vehicle drivers, doesn’t some of the responsibility of safe-road-sharing come on the part of the cyclers and the routes the choose?
In our opinion, the only time that this should be a good decision is… if your house was full of outta town visitors and they all said, “We’re heading back home in a few hours and we didn’t get to experience a Primanti sandwich yet,” and there was gameday Steelers traffic between them and getting the sandwiches! Totally excusable.
Meantime.. can ya kindly pick a safer route for ALL of us.. Ya Jagoffs?
