Bryer Blumenschein, A Macaron Moment

There was nothing sweet about the Covid cutbacks, but I will admit that there was a sweet and unseen benefit. I was let go from my previous full-time role due to COVID-19 cutbacks and I found myself with way too much free time (something I hate!) so I ended up baking to make a little extra money. My best friend, Missy, and I bake all sorts of goodies, but the macarons seem to be our stand-out treat. I believe that has something to do with the difficulty of the process, plus every time is a good time for a macaron! They’re so light yet full of flavor, doubled into a sandwich, they ooze refinement and elegance. My favorite batch was a dipped Nutella that we tried out over the holidays, but the best part about the macaron is that a holiday doesn’t need to be declared. They are perfect for break-up cheer ups, welcome to the neighborhood salutations and even no dessert planned let’s have a macaron kinda days. Dress ’em up or enjoy them nude, again every time is a good time for a macaron. Follow me on @bryerlb on IG and http://bryerlb.com/
