QUESTION OF THE DAY:

Would you go to space if you had the chance?

(2:47) Jason Brown is the Henry Buhl, Jr., Director of Carnegie Science Center.

After serving as Interim Director for 15 months, Jason Brown was named director of Carnegie Science Center in February 2020. Jason speaks with us about CSC’s Mars: The Next Giant Leap and how it’s the most ambitious new experience built since the museum’s inception in 1991. Every few years, the exhibit will change to prompt new ideas and conversations from visitors. Jason also talks about how this new exhibit has students asking compelling questions like “will there be healthcare on Mars? If we can engineer a new planet, why don’t we just fix the one that we are on? And why should I care about going to space when I have neighbors who can’t afford to put food on their table?” Find Carnegie Science Center online at www.CarnegieScienceCenter.org and on Instagram & Twitter @CarnegieSciCtr and on Facebook: Carnegie Science Center

(32:18) Matt, Music of Koz

Koz is one of our favorites! He stopped by to talk about what he and the band have been up to and this group has gained notoriety for catchy tunes, incendiary guitar solos, and a groove-filled backline. His band’s latest single is called “Torture” and it’s available everywhere. Check out www.MusicOfKoz.com Facebook: MusicOfKoz Instagram & Twitter: MusicOfKoz

(42:41) Erin & Roger, Spectrum Fudge

They stopped by to talk about how the company came about. Spectrum Fudge was created out of a dream. Erin & Roger have a 12-year-old son on the spectrum and a 14-year-old neurotypical daughter. They wondered; what can they do for their son to plan into adulthood. Where can he work, what will he be comfortable with? And after moving up from Florida, and meeting with other people in the autism community, Spectrum Fudge was born. And why fudge? It just sort of happened. Their products are made by individuals with diverse abilities, and your support of these products helps create more jobs for individuals on the autism spectrum.
