The 2nd stop on the Ya Jagoff fireplace tour was in the Brighton Heights area of Pittsburgh’s Northside. The Frankovich’s opened their home to us jagoffs to talk about many events happening in the next few weeks in our city. First up was a visit from Carlos Carter, the charismatic Executive Director from the Homeless Children Education Fund. He dishes on their upcoming gala and supply donations to help HCEF. John and Rachael also meet their float partners for the St. Patty’s Day Parade—welcome Pukas! We learn how much fun we will have this March 17, but our float description is a surprise! We will be podcasting from a hurling field with these folks, though. Then we chat up what to expect for an enhanced year 5 with Eat Drink Pittsburgh. We catch up with Yelp’s Rachel Carlson and Amy Mauk, Promotions Manager for Entercom, presenters of EDP. Drum roll please, yours truly are food category judges. The Armadillos croon around the fire reminding us that this tour was a warm and welcoming idea, again thanks to Suburban Floor and our pal Bob Hufnagle who will customize any room starting with the floors.

Question of the Day
Would you rather eat, drink or wave?
The owner of this awesome and traditional Brighton Heights home, Kristen and her son Roman, welcome us Italian style and even deliver a listen in salutation in Italian! This is stop #2 on our Suburban Floors Fireplace Tour!
Singing some “Boys to Men” Carlos T. Carter, Executive Director of the Homeless Children’s Education Fund talks about the 19th Annual Champions for Children event on March 5th and lets us know how we can help with supplies for back packs, but…. first… yes… some “Boys to Men!”
Our St. Patrick’s Day Parade partners, the Pittsburgh hurling team, Pucas (pronounce POO-kas), Ryan, Dennis, Keith and Sean, join us in sweating in front of Kristen’s fireplace. And YES, it is HURLING.. not CURLING that they play. They explain it and then we talk St. Pat’s Parade plans! Special thanks to Tim O’Brien (O’Brien Communications) for the hook-up!
Rachel Carlson, from Yelp! Pittsburgh is back with an update on Yelp! events, check them out including the upcoming Made in da Burgh events and she is joining our team this Thursday as a judge of all things food, at Eat. Drink. Pittsburgh!
What is better than eating and drinking all you can take in for $40? NOTHING! Amy Mauk of the Entercom radio stations joins us about Eat. Drink. Pittsburgh this Thursday, 6-9pm.
Austin Vanasdale, Ivy Steinberg and Agnieszka Sornek, of the Armadillos band hang out with us and talk about their folksy style and, if anyone gets angry in traffic like John does… or are they always mellow? Missing from podcast, Mike Simms – upright bass backing vocals.
