Who Knew Jaggery is an Ingredient?

Rachael Rennebeck

We write about jagofferey, but never knew the word jaggery existed, let alone it was an ingredient! So we did some jagwork.

Jaggery is a traditional sweetener made from the juice of sugarcane or palm sap that is common in Southeast Asia and India. It’s often called a “superfood sweetener” because it contains more nutrients than refined sugar. So you know our takeaway? It is healthy and we can use it in a sentence: Yinz have any jaggery in that dessert, ya jagoff?

Thanks to Connie from Cookie Cookie Ice Cream for the learning lesson!
