What Day is THIS?

Rachael Rennebeck

You got it! National Pillow in the Fridge Day! Or, as we’d say in Pittsburghese.. Pilla in Yer Fridgerator Day!

As our JFCs (Jagoff Fact Checkers) found, this is a real thing!

Put A Pillow On Your Fridge Day is celebrated on the 29th of May each year, in Europe and the U.S.

The day is all about prosperity, good fortune, and having bit of fun along the way. – Factsite.com

What are the Pittsburgh protocols for this day? Well, coming off of the big Memorial Day cookout, protect the leftovers! Leftovers like: cold burnt hot dogs, potato salad that sat out an extra hour waiting for Uncle Petey to get done eating, a cold cheesburger or two that you had squashed with your spatula on the grill to make a big grease fire (which is what darkens the hot dogs) and the pretzel jello salad that Aunt Elsie made (if there’s any of that even leftover.. if it is.. it’s on a small Styrofoam plate covered with plastic wrap!) And by ALL means.. protect the leftover beer and and Isaly’s chipped ham.

“Cooler than the flipside of my pillow” … but I digress.. and you’re welcome for the ear worm!!

But wait! You might be wondering, why there was no Iron City Beer next to that pillow! Well.. it’s because it’s all gone because our guests had beer-drinking priorities and traditional tastes!

Go celebrate the day…. just don’t get any leftovers on your pilla… YaJagoffs!
