Pi Day ???

Todya’s blog post written by Rachael… YaJagoff Podcast co-host.

There is no way we celebrated, acknowledged or even heard of the day Pi pre I don’t know, 2010? I blame the techy, clever millennials for this day of celebration. (Insert eye roll) Except I just looked up that fun fact and it was 1988. So my generation decided we should declare 3.14 a thing. In case you’re lost, March 14 marks Pi Day, an annual celebration of the mathematical sign pi. Founded in 1988 by physicist Larry Shaw, March 14 was selected because the numerical date (3.14) represents the first three digits of pi 3.14159.

Truth be told anything math is not my strong suit. I mean the day to day adding and dividing, sure, percentages, ok. I had nuns who taught multiplication so I was timed daily on my times tables so I even know 12×12 is 144, a gross or 12 dozen. Beyond that I’m toast. No decimals, no fractions and no pi.

So let me put my not so bad English/grammar hat on and tout that pi isn’t even spelled right and two letters typically are articles or prepositions— not meaningful words. I mean, at, in, or… get me? Pie— a delicious baked good made of sweets and fruits, three letters, ok understood.

I mean what’s next? By Day? A salutation and preposition now used as closure day? And what would be the significant dessert to accompany it?  Like, drop the e in bye and say I’m done. By, ya Jagoff?!
