We are doing a live Okctoberfest Olympics this Saturday!
You know the saying, “This ain’t your grandmother’s (insert topic) ?” Well, the Oktoberfest celebration at The Dive Bar and Grill on October 2nd is not your grandmother’s Oktoberfest, it’s a yinzer’s paradise.
On Saturday, October 2nd from 5-8 pm, The Dive Bar and Grille will host the YaJagoff crew for a first-ever Yinzer Oktoberfest. Thanks to Boston Beer Company, you can snag a Samuel Adams Octoberfest draft beer and join in the games at 3410 Saxonburg Boulevard in Glenshaw, with prizes including tickets to an upcoming Pittsburgh Penguins game. It is easy! Assemble a team of no more than 4 yinzers, 21 and older, or fly solo.
5pm: Arrive at The Dive Bar and Grill, Glenshaw and prepare, yinzer style. Some stretching exercises, that may include some Sam Adams elbow bends, and repeatedly eating Oktoberfest apps, hand to mouth, hand to mouth. Whatevs! You do you!
6-8pm: The games begin. You/your team will be judged and given points on your ability to:
*Dress in Jagger-hosen (your Pittsburgh take on traditional lederhosen)
*Roll a beer barrel around our obstacle course
*Eat a MaryMac Bakehouse black forest pie in the fastest time
(without your hands)
*Hoist a beer stein full of fluid (without bending your arm or your back)
8:30pm: The team/individual with the most points win Pens tickets compliments of Boston Beer and Samuel Adams!
Who will be judging your efforts? Not just any yinzers. The judges are:
- Hungry Jess, creator of the Hungry Jess Big City social media brand
- Favorite Pittsburgh comedian, T-Robe
- Kristen from the Y-108 Y’d Awake Morning Crew
