First a Hills Snack Bar, and now the news that Chi-Chi’s is coming back means my birthday is important again.
Of course, we all recall the ramekins of salsa, the margaritas, the fried ice cream. But the birthday experience was the king of all things Chi-Chi’s. Happy, Happy Birthday to you, to you, to you. Olay! I can still hear it and sometimes perform it for my own kids.
I can’t verify, but I think “Fake it is your birthday” also began there. The old, let’s tell the server it is (insert friend’s name) birthday so we can get the song.
Whether it was the sombrero, the chimichanga, or the memories, we know you all feel the same. Welcome back Chi-Chi’s, yaJagoff! (It’s the term of endearment since you have been gone a while!)
