The Union Pacific Big Boy steam locomotive rolled into Pittsburgh to huge crowds. People packed the roadsides with lawn chairs, parking chairs, coolers, cameras and enough snacks to survive a 4-day snow storm.
Then… these Jagoffs decided the best seat in the house was ON THE TRACKS.
Every news station said, “Don’t go on the tracks,” about 437 times. Apparently that translated to, “Sit there until the whistle gets REALLY loud.”
Listen, if your knees make more noise than the Big Boy’s whistle when you stand up, maybe active railroad tracks shouldn’t be your recliner.
INSERT SOUND OF TRAIN WHISTLE HERE
WHOOOOOOO!
“Hang on, Georgie… let me get up…”
Snap… crackle… pop…
“My knee locked!”
“Gretta, push me from behind!”
History is fun. Trains are awesome. Becoming part of the railroad report? Not so much.
Stay off the tracks like the told ya to, YaJagoffs.
John Chamberlin and Rachael Rennebeck are Pittsburgh jagoffs (the term of endearment version of jagoff of course) who cofounded YaJagoff Media, LLC. With decades of experience eating, drinking, shopping, living and being among yinzers, we birthed the Pittsburgh-centric company encompassing all things related to the 412, oh and the 724.
