Johnny Angel’s Throwback Thursday

For years, Thursday nights at Atria’s, PNC Park were a gathering place for music lovers, local performers, and fans of Pittsburgh’s rich Doo Wop tradition. The music, memories, and surprise appearances made Doo Wop Thursdays a beloved part of the city’s entertainment scene. 

To celebrate that era, Pittsburgh music legend Johnny Angel is launching a monthly Throwback Thursday series at his Pittsburgh Music Museum, Johnny Angel’s Ginchy Stuff. 

On Wednesday, June 25, Johnny Angel, whose real name is Jack Hunt, will present videos from Atria’s popular Thursday night music series, beginning with a featured performance by Jimmy Beaumont and the Skyliners. Guests will also enjoy a Q&A session and a guided tour of the museum, where Hunt will share stories and history from Pittsburgh’s music legacy. 

Doors open at 6 p.m., with video presentations beginning at 7 p.m.
