Year five celebrating the iconic Pittsburgh dessert called for a people’s choice upgrade. In year’s past, bragging rights and a YaJagoff visit was the award, but our friends at Pittsburgh Today Live have agreed to showcase the people’s choice purveyor with a kitchen segment on the show. No matter the concoction, the creator will detail its sweetness and nod their charity partner of course.
If you are new to the Strawberry Jell-O Pretzel Salad Standoff, it is a celebration of the yinzer sweet. Fourteen food purveyors and creators are partnering with their favorite local charity for enthusiasts to taste test and vote on their favorite, while a panel of judge’s decides theirs. The judge’s winner receives a monetary donation thanks to small business supporters My Preferred Insurance and Mancini’s Bakery, who was the winner year one.
