Time for the Annual St. Patrick’s Day Parade

The Jags

St. Patrick's Day Parade

Every year the Pittsburgh St. Patrick’s Day Parade rolls through downtown and suddenly everyone in Pittsburgh discovers two things: a green shirt laying at the bottom of the hamper, some Dollar General shamrock stickers (either left over from last year or newly purchased along with last minute green tie) and a long-lost Irish cousin.

Depending on the weather, the downtown Pittsburgh sidewalks will feel with green hats, green beads, solo cups full of secret leprechaun juice and fun. All that while the bagpipes, Irish dogs and various floats move along the parade route.

At some point, almost everyone will try to pronounce “Sláinte” without making it sound Italian.

But hey—once the music starts, we’re all a little Irish… but not just Irish… Pittsburgh Irish… YaJagoffs!

Parade starts at 10am yinz!

John Chamberlin and Rachael Rennebeck are Pittsburgh jagoffs (the term of endearment version of jagoff of course) who cofounded YaJagoff Media, LLC. With decades of experience eating, drinking, shopping, living and being among yinzers, we birthed the Pittsburgh-centric company encompassing all things related to the 412, oh and the 724.
