I get that we have to accept that things change as we age, but saying goodbye to Fruit Stripe Gum is like wiping out 1982 until I went to high school.
It is like my trips to White Swan Park and tuning into Kids Incorporated never happened. Spare the drama? Ok, I get that there is plenty of gum on the market, but Fruit Stripe was just the right mix of fruit and not over the top like Hubba Bubba. That was like the gorilla of gum, and you found yourself chewing non-stop to manage it. Not Fruit Stripe.
Supposedly you can still find some, but it is the nostalgia. The meaning. I will be checking lots of Grandpa Joe’s, and don’t judge the zebra tattoo. It was always part of the fruity experience, remember the gum was wrapped in the zebra tattoo? Just preserving my childhood, yajagoff!
