Zachary’s Mission supports families of medically fragile children by providing basic necessities, financial assistance, and programs that nurture emotional well-being. Founded by Patricia and Robert Vince, Zachary’s Mission recognizes that hospital families face financial and emotional hardships when a child is ill, and strive to lessen these burdens through the mission. They work in partnership with hospital staff and care coordinators at Children’s Hospital of Pittsburgh of UPMC, The Children’s Home and Lemieux Family Center, West Penn Hospital and NICU, and the Children’s Institute to identify families who would benefit from our support which includes:
- Offering Zack Packs to families who unexpectedly find themselves with an extended stay with a child in the hospital
- Providing financial assistance with transportation and utility expenses that accumulate over long-term stays
- Supplying Baby’s First gifts to enable families to celebrate holiday milestones
