YaJagoff Blog covers Aldi's Clancy brand

At Mad Mex I get the Black Beanie Quaadeanie, or the Happy Hippy I think.  As for Denny’s, I’ve always done the Moons Over My Hammy. It drives my husband crazy. It’s such a point of contention that if you asked what his pet peeves were, my need and craving for weird titled foods is a topper.

So really, no surprise that when our 11-year-old pointed out that her bagged lunches looked different at school, we had to chuckle. My oldest son is now in charge of grocery shopping our snacks. Usually he gathers granola bars, Nutri-Grain bars, protein packed yummies,. Hence my daughter’s Millvale chewy granola bar in her lunch.

Aldi shoppers, you know where I am going. To keep costs significantly lower, Aldi has somewhat of a mix of usual and recognizable name brands, with a big array of their own cheaper, flimsy – box brands. The funny part? The names are almost an exact replica of main brands. She giggles and says can you pass me peanut butter puffs, instead of the Reese’s Puffs for cereal. Golden Grahams? Nope. Cinnamon Toast Crunch? Nope. Something like Graham Crunch. Very clever Aldi

But the mother of all brands at Aldi is Clancy. I am not kidding when I tell you that the thin pretzels and lower sodium cheese balls are almost half the price of the name brand stores. So, embrace it, honor the almost the same but not quite names. Defend those off brand titles when brown bagging. It is not a trend or a phase. Aldii is the king of affordable and weird names Ya Jagoffs!!
